DCEU (DC Extended Universe), which wanted to be Marvel's rival but couldn't, eventually closed its doors and announced a reboot. Warner Bros. launched DCEU in 2013 with "Man of Steel" starring Henry Cavill as Superman, but the DC franchise was shaken by the failure of films such as "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice" (2016) and "Justice League" (2017).

Warner Bros. then hired James Gunn, who made "Guardians of the Galaxy" a success at Marvel Studios, to reboot the DC Universe. The first film in the new DC Universe will be a Superman film, just like before the reboot. The film, titled "Superman: Legacy", is directed by James Gunn himself and is scheduled to be released in 2025.

Superman - David Corenswet

David Corenswet, a 1993-born American actor, will play Superman, the most iconic character in American superhero movies and comics. He is 6'3" tall, and is drawing attention for his appearance resembling Henry Cavill, who previously played Superman, in his younger years.

He started his career as a child actor, but he hasn't appeared in many movies or TV series that are well-known to the public. One of his most famous works is Netflix's original series "The Politician", where he appeared as a character with a considerable role.

Lois Lane - Rachel Brosnahan

Lois Lane will be played by Rachel Brosnahan. She appeared in Netflix's original "House of Cards" in 2013 and Amazon Prime's original "The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel" in 2017. "The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel" is particularly Brosnahan's most representative success.

Hawkgirl - Isabela Merced

Isabela Merced, a 2001-born actress from Peru, will play Hawkgirl. Her best-known appearance is in the 2017 film "Transformers: The Last Knight". In this film, Isabela played Izabella, an orphaned girl from Chicago.

She also appears in the Sony Spider-Man Universe film "Madame Web", which will be released in February.

Green Lantern - Nathan Fillion

For reference, there was a 2011 film for Green Lantern, but it is considered to be one of the most failed superhero films of the 2010s. Ryan Reynolds, the lead actor, even used the clumsy CG as comedy material in films like "Deadpool". However, the Green Lantern appearing in this film is said to be a different character with the same powers.

Warner Bros. and James Gunn are also considering various castings. For example, Millie Alcock, who played Rhaenyra Targaryen in "House of the Dragon", is a strong candidate for Supergirl.
