Leaked Footage from Cancelled Game of Thrones Prequel Featuring Naomi Watts

When the final season of Game of Thrones aired, HBO announced that it was developing a total of four Game of Thrones spin-offs. One of them is 'House of the Dragon,' which has already successfully completed its first season, and another is 'Bloodmoon,' which only produced a pilot episode.

In the summer of 2019, the Bloodmoon production team spent $30 million to create the pilot episode. In American TV series, only one episode is produced as a sample, and then the production company decides whether to produce a full season based on it. HBO reviewed the pilot episode of Bloodmoon and decided to cancel the series.

After that, no one could see the pilot episode. It is said that even George R.R. Martin, the author of the Game of Thrones original novels, was unable to view it.

However, some scenes featuring actress Naomi Watts have recently been leaked.

Naomi Watts was supposed to appear as a woman from House Casterly, the ancestors of House Lannister, in Game of Thrones. Fans are drawn to Naomi Watts's elaborate costumes and hairstyle. The meticulously crafted Casterly Rock set, the ancestral home of House Lannister, has also garnered attention, with many expressing regret that the $30 million investment was wasted.

The reason seems clear. This series lacked an original source material. Game of Thrones produced its final season while the original novels were still incomplete, which resulted in a disastrously underwhelming ending. HBO has already chosen to produce 'House of the Dragon,' which is based on a published work.

This series was set thousands of years before the events of Game of Thrones. Jane Goldman, the screenwriter for Bloodmoon, had stated that this spin-off series would explore the origins of the White Walkers. The White Walkers were a crucial element in Game of Thrones, but their origins were only hinted at and never fully explained.

In 2019, there were leaks from the Bloodmoon filming site. Some men were seen on longships, and a primitive version of the Stark family sigil was also displayed.

Based on the leaked scenes and the writer's statements, Bloodmoon could have been a very captivating work. However, House of the Dragon turned out to be so exceptional that, for now, we hope HBO will focus on the prequel series they are already airing.
