A very short teaser and stills of Squid Game Season 2, Netflix's most successful work, have been released. In Season 1, Gi-hun (Lee Jung-jae), who decided to stay in Korea, makes a very short clip on the phone to someone, saying, "I will definitely find you."

Also released were stills and posters featuring various cast members. The stills raise several questions about Squid Game Season 2. First of all, Gi-hun, who has returned for Season 2, is making an anxious expression among the Squid Game administrators.

In the short teaser, he seemed to be trying to destroy the Squid Game itself and unravel the behind-the-scenes. But in this still, Gi-hun is depicted as if he has joined the Squid Game again.

But his course is expected to be different from the previous season. Director Hwang Dong-hyuk said that he was a character who passively showed altruism, but through the experience of Season 1, he has changed into a more active person.

The "Hunger Games" similar to Squid Game focused on the fight to overthrow the system itself rather than the "Hunger Games" itself in the latter half of the series. It seems inevitable that Gi-hun's attempt to overthrow Squid Game is already planned.

Director Hwang Dong-hyuk said in several interviews that he carefully chose the games that will appear in Squid Game Season 2. Regardless of which path Gi-hun takes, it is certain that Squid Game will be held once again. Im Si-wan, Kang Ha-neul, Park Sung-hoon, and Yang Dong-geun appear as new participants in Squid Game.

The Frontman and "The Man in the Suit" also return in the second season. Gong Yoo seems to be going around gathering new participants again this time. Director Hwang Dong-hyuk once said that he wanted to explore more about Gong Yoo's character, so more stories about his background could come out.

The Frontman, who had been hiding his face in the last season, has revealed his face from the poster in this season. He is still played by actor Lee Byung-hun, and his face is half-hidden by a mask.

Director Hwang Dong-hyuk said that he plans to tell a deeper story about the Frontman in Season 2. Therefore, he is also likely to be portrayed as a more three-dimensional villain as the seasons go by. Especially, "Hwang Jun-ho" (Wi Ha-jun), the Frontman's younger brother who appeared in the last season, is confirmed to return.

Lee Byung-hun's 'Frontman' is the Darth Vader of Squid Game?

Director Hwang compared the Frontman to Darth Vader in Entertainment Weekly last year. He is a former winner of Squid Game, but he became the Frontman. Just as Anakin Skywalker was a great Jedi in Star Wars, but became the villain Darth Vader after suffering.

This interview by Director Hwang was a huge hint to English-speaking fans. This is because Darth Vader tried to lead Luke Skywalker, the protagonist and his own son, down the dark path in "Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back."
